I started looking in March right when Covid happened and we started wfh and picked up Luna in June! We communicated mostly on phone/text and we FaceTimed twice for me to see the pups! I was also lucky and got to visit the pups once when they were five weeks. When I finally connected with Catherine, she answered all of my questions. As a first time dog owner, she gave me options that I hadn’t thought of. Like guardianship and even re-thinking if I wanted a puppy, which at the time seemed weird and harsh but in hindsight it shows that she wants to make sure the puppies go to a family who is prepared mentally for the responsibility and I find that ethical.

Pros: Catherine breeds excellent dogs! Lunas temperament is excellent! She is well mannered and learns things really fast! Catherine is very cautious about disease and in ensuring her pups are clean and she deworms them twice before you bring them home and gives you clear instruction on what to do to build up their stomach flora. She also offers a take home package where she started crate training the pups two weeks before they come home. She has a thorough contract and also credits back a small fee once you present a certificate for spay/neuter.

Cons: Catherine is busy so it’s not always easy getting a hold of her but her dogs make up for it. I had to text her multiple times for answers which was frustrating at the time. Her website is outdated and she doesn’t have a social media so while you’re waiting for your pup, you feel like you’re in the dark (in this age of social media) and that can be tough!

Cather Manor is local to the Bay Area and I wanted to have a local breeder. Her website listed her in the valley but when I connected with her and she mentioned she had recently moved to Hayward. I fell in love with Luna’s personality and her eyes!! She has human eyes and I’ve been told that multiple times from strangers!
